Basically every time I blog I feel guilty because there are so many other things that I should be doing. And even though the photos of Lucy are super cute, I'm tired of seeing the same post every time I visit my blog. That said, let's move forward.
We decided to hire our friend Mike to install molding and taller baseboards to the office, Lucy's room, and the guest bedroom. I can't believe the difference it makes.
In process...
After:
We decided to put a comfy chair by the windows, and I really love it. Our windows are bare at the moment, but we should be getting new shutters sometime very soon.
It's hard to post these photos, because nothing is actually completed, but I thought it would be fun to document our progress.
Here are a couple images of Lucy's room:
Before we had it painted, the dining room was a dark tan-ish orange with a light tan ceiling. You can't really tell how dark it is from the photo, but you can get a glimpse of how it used to be.
We had it painted white because it tends to be a dark room. We still want to get two pendant light fixtures, and put more colorful artwork up on the walls. It looks pretty stark right now, but I can see the potential.
Now back to real life.
Nice JJ! The crown moulding definitely makes a big difference. Love your design style. Tell the boys not to step on your white desk! :)

ReplyDeleteJJ,
ReplyDeleteCan i just say you are so precious! Seriously it is such a blessing to listen to your music and have those intimate times between God through your songs. Thank you for writing this blog too! I also found you on facebook :) part of me feels like i'm being rude looking in on your life but then again it's awesome to see how down to earth you are. Thank you for being refreshing, and a light in my life from highschool years to now. Have a wonderful night!

don't feel guilty about adding beauty to your world and the world of your family! we could convince ourselves that everything is fleeting. . . then why the gift of art?
ReplyDeleteyou are doing a great job of making your house a home and a creative, inspiring place to be. :)
Your house is beautiful! Would love to know what color paint the office is?
ReplyDelete:) I can't wait to see more!!
ReplyDeletelove it! It's so fun watching you put your house together. You are REALLY good at it :)
ReplyDeleteIsn't it scary how we can get so sucked into the world of the Internet? Sometimes I feel guilty too, and think of all the other "real life" things I should be doing - reading a book, getting outside, spending time with people. But then I also think about the sense of community I enjoy so much in blogging, and that's got to count for something.
ReplyDeleteWhere did you get that picture in Lucy's room? Just love it so much!
