Sleep in Heavenly Peace

Oh Advent Calendar. You are/were so much more work than I expected. That's why I reluctantly decided to set you aside until next year.

Maybe I'll have more motivation in a few months.

more than all that, our home is loving you and Dave's beautiful music that dear friends turned us on to.

  2. This will not be encouraging, but I have a similar project that I just abandoned for good last year when I moved. My kids are all adults;-) (We had many other Advent traditions, though.)
It will be beautiful when you finish it, and then it will be ready next December 1.

  4. this is beautiful! I made little felt stockings three years ago for advent that turned out to be a much larger project as well. I embellished each stocking with either buttons, embroidery, needle felting, etc. Anyhow, (thoretically) we put a slip of paper in one each day that tells an activity that we are going to do together (our focus during the season is to spend time together as a family rather than gifts). So,the year that I made them, I thought I would just whip them up and we would begin our daily activities. It didn't quite unfold how I imagined it would. I finished them up on Christmas day and had to tuck them away for the following year. :)

  6. Find a beautiful box
    to keep it in~
Work a bit on it through the year
    in joyful anticipation
    of the season
    to come.

One day Lucy will be 20
    and it will bring
    sweet memory

    Keep working jj~
    it's worth it.

  8. I was in the process of making an event calendar similar to this one. I had decided to put it on hold also until spring...I'll have it done for next year. Some times you have to pick and choose whats important to get done, this timegularfes I picked my kiddos, the calendar can wait:)

  11. I would love to make an Advent calendar like this. 2012, baby! I echo everyone else's questions, is there a pattern for this or did you just make it up with your creative genius? Either way, it's so cute and I want to make one!
