WASH

I had this bright idea to buy a whole bunch of cardboard letters to put up above the sink. I wanted them to say "eat, wash, repeat." Wouldn't that have been cute and clever? I thought it would at least be better than the Van Gogh print that we had up there (which I like, but is a little boring).
Unfortunately, when I got all the letters home, they were way bigger than I anticipated. So, after I painted them with black chalkboard paint, I decided to only hang the word "wash."
But it still didn't look quite right. It was way too stark, and felt a bit out of place. So THEN I thought that it would be cute and fun and spring-y to glue some floral fabric to the letters, and look! I love it!
I love how the fabric ties in with the mirror color (don't mind Dave... he just happened to be in my shot :).
And here's a close-up only because I really love this fun fabric and I want you to get a good look at it.
These cardboard letters are $3 apeice at Joanne, so go get creative!

    These would be great in a child's room.. you could spell out their name, or you can put them in a bedroom and spell peace, or rest. Or put "wash" in the laundry room." I just love letters :)

    You need a Cricut. Then you could cut all kinds of letters yourself!

    you are so creative! I love it! You could always buy smaller letters for the "eat & repeat" and hang them slanted to the sides or something. But I love it like this too!!!

    Love this! I did this in my dorm room a couple of years ago with my name but painted the letters different colors to match my comforter. Never thought about fabric!

    curious how you "stuck" the letters on the wall? just basic fun-tack? i have the word eat (really creative i know) in my kitchen and i used fun-tak...but i'm always wondering it there would be a better way...! :) thanks

    yep. I used the sticky putty stuff that you're supposed to use in a dorm room :). It actually brought back a lot of memories...

    If you used velcro to stick the fabric on, you could change it out with the seasons and decor. :)

    Super cute! I would possibly see about spraying something over it to make it more "water resistant", seeing how it is made up of cardboard and fabric. I just know how wet my sink area can get sometimes and it would be a bummer to have put work into something so beautiful just to have it ruined...

    JJ Your letters are so cute! Love the fabric you chose! Crafting is so relaxing, isn't it?

    On a different note, I wish I could come out for the Malone Univ (Canton) show next week but it is an hour away from here so it would be a late night for my family and me on a school night. Bummer. Come back again sometime! Anne

    That is a really great idea! My husband and I are looking at houses to buy so this would be a wonderful thing do when we get a new house. And I love crafting! Did you just glue the fabric on? I know they have wooden letters and I bet with those you could staple the fabric to the back with a staple gun or something. Anyways thanks for the idea and I love your creativeness!

    I adore this - and the comment above about the velcro and changing it out, thanks for sharing this crafty idea. Hmmm where do I need cute verbiage to brighten up a room...now if I could only muster-up enough strength to ONLY buy letters @ Joanne's.

    I also like how the colors kind of coordinate with the mirror with-out being "matchy".

    I love this letter idea. It is SOO cute! We are in the process of remodeling our tiny 700 sq ft home and the sheetrock with mud on it makes me want to be creative and cover up the wall... patience is not my forte when it comes to the remodel.
