I had the pleasure of pretending to be a design consultant for my friend Christine who is expecting a little boy any day now. It was so fun helping her brainstorm for a boy's nursery!
I looked through the photos I had on file from all my time looking at decorating blogs, as well as from magazines, and came up with a fun cloud theme.
Christine glued the fabric to the cardboard letters, and she also cut out the cloud shapes.
Before:
We used spray starch to stick the clouds to the wall.
After:
Here's a close-up (because I couldn't resist).
Here's what the dresser wall looked like before:
And after! So much happier :)
I didn't want to overdo it, so we kept the closet wall fairly simple. Before:
I love the balloons in this shot!
It might be time to start focusing on the nursery for a certain little Heller baby girl who will be arriving sooner than I think!

Today..
We're in Nashville right now packing up our house so that we can move to warmer weather (which sounds REALLY nice right now, but not so nice in the summer). Phoenix, here we come!
Amidst all of the mess, I noticed how pretty all of these knick knacks looked on the bookshelves. I had tried to group them together so that they would be easy to pack, and then it hit me how pretty they were :).

AND.. Elizabeth Foster came by today so that we could take a look at more of her art. It's my belated birthday gift from Dave! We just LOVE the art we bought from her awhile back (which I posted about here and here), and we decided that we would like more please. It was so hard to choose, but these were the ones we decided on.
I mean... how could we resist flying whales?

... and a horse wearing a Victrola?...

Reconnection
Facebook strikes again. I somehow managed to get in touch with my sophomore english teacher Tracey, and we found out that we have many things in common (including a love of sewing). When our little family was in San Jose a few days ago, we were able to get together for a lovely dinner and great conversation. She even took some REALLY great photos of our little Lucy. Which reminds me that I forgot to post a link to THESE awesome photos taken by my friend Sarah last month.

Summer Day
We spent yesterday morning with our friend Alishia (who just gave birth a week and a half ago) and her kids. Here are a few photos from the back yard.

Lucy's Little Friends
When were in San Jose last weekend, our friends Brianna and Andrew brought their children over to my parents' house to meet Lucy. Good times were had by all. Olivia desperately wants a baby sister, and Lucy was happy to stand in for the day.

I think this is quite possibly one of the cutest photos that Dave has taken yet. You gotta love Jojo's little hat:)

My Talented Husband
Our friends Jeremy and Kierstin and their little boy Eli dropped by our house today so that Dave could take their Christmas photos. They also wanted to say hello to Lucy :)
The photo shoot started out inside, and then moved to our back yard for a few more portraits and gave Eli a chance to stretch his legs (and wings).

I love the look of pure joy on Eli's face.

Heather and Sammie
My friend Heather came out to visit for a few days and help us get ready for Lucy's arrival. Heather was one of my roommates in college, and now she lives in Kansas. It was so fun to meet her beautiful, five month-old daughter, Sammie.
Here she is modeling a onesie I made for her:

The three of us at the house:

We let Sammie try out Lucy's floor gym... I think she liked it :)

Shower #3
My wonderful friend Sarah flew out to Nashville (from Pasadena, CA) to throw a shower for me (what an amazing gal!). I LOVED the decorations and the food.

Sarah (wearing pink) made all of the brown paper flowers in the windows (which I'm TOTALLY going to use again).

I have lovely friends...

... who spoiled me with lovely gifts :)

Sarah made these adorable onesies for Lucy.

Carol made this gorgeous quilt!

That concludes all of the showers for baby Lucy. She is so loved already!

Shower #2
My mother-in-law, Pauly, threw me a really wonderful shower in Phoenix. My good friend Stacy was very kind to let us use her gorgeous home! She also helped out a TON with food preparation and invitations and lots of other little details. Basically, I feel very loved.
Here are some photos I took of the food:

And yes... it all tasted as good as it looks!

Aunt Jes and me.

Grandma Pauly and I having lovely time looking at some of Lucy's wonderful gifts.

Thanks to all of you who helped us celebrate!
