I was spending some time at the home of my friends Jordan and Rachel when I came across some fantastically retro treasures. Rachel's grandma had given her a bag of old clothes hoping that her garments could get one more go-round. Alas, Rachel didn't want any of them, so of course, I asked if I could rummage through. I found a bunch of lovely belts that are so wonderfully trendy right now. Here are my keepers:
I LOVE the black one up in the left corner.
I wore one of them to church on Sunday
I added a pink one to an old black dress, and wore it to Thanksgiving dinner.
So fun!

Little Table
We finally found a home for our fax machine and phone. They've been sitting on the floor in our songwriting room for a long time now, but today at my favorite Nashville antique store I found this.
It's not a very great photo, but you get the idea. Posting this picture makes me realize that we have a little bit of organizing to do in that room. Sarah.. we need you!

Christmastime Is Here
Because Dave and I are going to be out of town for almost the entire month of December, it doesn't really make sense to deck our halls. We did have some friends over for dinner tonight though, so I thought I'd break out at least a few Christmas lights. I love the way they look in our little glass orb.

Fabric Frolic
I made it!
I saw the black and white skeleton/guitar fabric in person (the one pictured in one of my previous posts), and it turned out to be a little too skeletal and menacing... not really Dave-style. So, I ended up getting this fabric instead (to make Dave a bag for his cords and cables).
I bought some other REALLY FABULOUS fabric as well, but I can't post it because it's going to be a Christmas gift for someone dear to me!

Tomorrow, Sweet Santa Cruz
Dave and I plan to leave early in the morning for the California coast. That's right. We're headed to Santa Cruz! I found this wonderous fabric store online (pictured above), and I can't wait for the moment when I can blissfully skip through the rows and rows of fabulous material.
And this is the fabric I want to buy with which I will make Dave a cute (yet very rock 'n roll) little bag for all of his cords and cables.

Curtain
There are no Cost Plus World Markets in Tennessee, so whenever we go to California or Arizona I try to stop by and take a look around. I love that store! I probably love it even more because I can't go whenever I want to :). I found a pretty floral curtain on sale for $10 in Phoenix (Sarah has the same one in her bathroom and it's so great!). I put it up in our kitchen to let in a little more light without showing too much of the not-so-nice view of our neighbor's driveway. I still have to hem it... and maybe iron it so that it covers a little more area. But for now, I like it :)
Here's the before...
Here's the after (imagine white cabinets...)

presents, presents everywhere
I've been on the road for a month, but I've been busy sewing since I've been home. I made this bag for a friend's birthday (hopefully she won't see this blog before she gets it in the mail). It's just like the beach bag I made for myself to bring to Hawaii, but I think I like this one better :).
