Just Like Mommy

Last week, we were contacted by a Nashville magazine that wanted to interview me for an upcoming issue. They asked for a few images for the article and we decided to take some new photos. The light in our bedroom at camp is beautiful every morning, so Dave took this photo of me yesterday. This morning was a bit more sunny, and Dave took this photo of Lucy. Isn't she cute?

Merry Christmas!

Tonight was Christmas Sweater Dinner night. I made a quick trip to Goodwill before we came up to camp. You'll see for yourself that it was well worth the effort.

A View From Our Bedroom Window

This rainbow was so large that Dave had to combine two photos to capture the entire thing. It was a beautiful way to welcome the evening at camp.

Our Camp Experience

Holy COW was it a long drive out to Colorado... almost 14 hours total. Lucy did NOT sleep very well in the car, but we made it!

This is what we saw on our way up the road to Crooked Creek Ranch.

Dave was invited by some campers to take a ride on the giant swing. I'm not sure if I'll work up the nerve to ride it before we make our way home.

The face of triumph.

The photos don't quite do it justice, so here's a low-quality video of Dave's adventure.

Tonight was western night.. aren't we cute?

Stay tuned for more photos y'all!

Camp

Hey friends,
We just got up to camp here in Fraser, Colorado and it is SO beautiful. Lucy just went down for a nap, and I'm going to follow suit VERY soon. We'll be here for the next several weeks... photos to follow when I'm a little more awake :).

Baby Hoodie #2

A long time ago, I made a hoodie for a friend of mine who had a little boy, and I wished I had bought a bunch more hoodies to applique. Alas, when I returned to the store to buy more, they were all gone.

I recently went to Target and found more plain hoodies! I snatched up as many as I could, and made this one for my friend Sarah, who's expecting Maxwell to arrive in a few weeks.

Dining Chairs

My in-laws wanted some help with their dining chairs, and how could I refuse such a wonderful make-over project? They purchased the table and chairs from a family a few years ago, but the white cushions were in need of some refreshing. I wish I had remembered to take a proper "before" photo, but this is the best I could find:

Here's a close-up of the white seat:

And here's the fabric I chose for them:

I still have 2.5 more chairs to recover, so stay tuned for the finished product.

San Diego

We just got back from a WONDERFUL trip to San Diego. The weather was perfect, so we tried to spend as much time outside as possible.

Lucy wanted to try on my sunglasses. Okay. I wanted Lucy to try on my sunglasses :)

Hers are cuter, though. She's totally into sticking out her tongue these days... she's so cute!

She loves her daddy.

House For Sale

Oh man are we tired! We spent the last five days getting our house staged and ready to put on the market. We stayed up until about 1:30 last night finishing up all of our little projects... then we woke up at 5:25 to catch our 8am flight to San Diego. I just took a much needed nap and I feel much better! Not to mention that San Diego is sunny and about 70 degrees :).

Without further ado.. the fruits of our labor:

Staging the house was so fun! I tried to tone everything down, and eliminate as much clutter as possible.

I love the way this simple arrangement turned out.

I bought some pretty blue napkins to offset the black and white in the dining room.

We rearranged our bedroom furniture and put the "H" on the wall.

Nothing new in the nursery...

We turned the upstairs office into a cozy kids room. It would've been fun to paint the walls and add a cute lantern lamp that hangs from the ceiling, but we're just trying to sell our home, not win decorating awards. It was really hard for me to reign myself in and not be a perfectionist.

I took a lot of stuff off of the bookshelves... AND you can see a sneak peek at the old sewing room which is now an office/art room. I LOVE it.

I stole a bunch of ideas from a page I tore out from a Pottery Barn catalogue a long time ago. I knew it would come in handy!

Nothing else is new..

We're excited to see what kind of interest we get in our home. We think it's pretty special :)

Goodbye Nashville

After much prayerful consideration, our little Heller family has decided to move out west (location still to be determined). So, first things first: we must sell our lovely little cottage! We have been hard at work... actually, Dave has been mostly hard at work and I've been watching Lucy.

Poor Dave.. what a huge task to try to tame those weeds.

As you can see, we still have QUITE a bit left to do!
