30 Weeks

Reunion!

It's been 10 whole years since I graduated from high school... unbelievable. Dave graciously agreed to be my handsome date to my reunion even though he hardly knew anyone. He was my designated photographer, and I'm so thankful to have some documentation of the evening.

Here we are all dressed up and ready to go (I'm 30 weeks pregnant now).

Some of my lovely high school buddies.

My dear friend Sarah... I love her sassy make-up!

New Discovery

I found a new blog called All Sorts that I've been eagerly devouring these last few days. It's definitely going to be a new addition to my side bar of "Sites I Like." I was especially taken with this cute advent calendar garland idea.

I have found myself thinking and dreaming about Christmas a lot since it will be around the time when my little Lucy is born. It's so fun to think that it will be her very first Christmas! I'm excited to start developing our own family traditions and keepsakes.

Fern Canyon

Dave and I are up in Eureka, CA visiting our good friends Michael and Shakeh. Today we drove about an hour north to hike in Fern Canyon.

First we took a quick stop at the beach. Dave was super sweet and drew a little D + JJ in the sand.

Here are our cute feet.

We're getting ready to go for our hike. We ate some figs (very adventurous of us, I know), plums and trail mix.

Fern Canyon was SO beautiful! And the trail was just long enough to be good exercise for a pregnant lady without being too exhausting.

Toddler Shirts

Here are a couple of my newest projects. It's always a challenge to come up with designs for little boys, but I'm pretty attached to these ones. I'll have to keep the stencils and make more fun things with them later.

ummm...

... sorry for being a lame blogger! I've actually been really busy sewing a whole bunch of fun projects, but I can't post any photos because they're all gifts. I have to wait a few more days before I show you what I've been up to. I CAN show you a photo of a beautiful baby shower invitation that my lovely friend Sarah made for Lucy and me. It's just wonderful!

Ultrasound 3

Here are a few more ultrasound photos that were taken a few days ago. It was SO fun to see Lucy Love again. She still seems like a pretty mellow little girl... so we're hoping that will continue after she's born :).

Baby Bunting

This is a project that I've had in mind from the very beginning stages of planning Lucy's nursery. Dave was afraid the room would look too masculine if it only had blue and green, so Carol and I took this into consideration when we picked out some very lovely coordinating fabrics (thanks Carol.. you're a genius when it comes to pairing colors and patterns!) . The pink tied in quite nicely without being too "foofy," as my mom would say. And as always, you can click on the photos to enlarge them.

Crib Cuteness

I did it! I made the crib skirt without a pattern. It makes such a big difference in the nursery and I think Lucy will like it :). Here's the first stage:

The ever important "before" photo:

... and the "after":

I'm really glad I decided to go with this fabric. I love how soft and feminine it is (even if it is blue and green).

California Adventures

Dave and I had so much fun on our last trip to Northern California.
First, our friends Teddy and Debbie and their little boys came all the way from the Central Valley to spend time with us. We played at the park, had several meals together and generally just enjoyed each other's company.

Then, I got to see another old friend, Briana, who lives with her husband and 3 (!) kids right down the street from my parents' house (she's on the left). My wonderful friend Sarah (on the right) flew in from Southern California to spend a few days with me and help us put together our baby registry at Target and Babies R Us. It was unbelievably fun and I'm SO thankful she was there to tell us which diapers and car seats and strollers are worth buying.

Here we are in downtown Lost Gatos getting ready to eat a delicious meal (although Sarah's wasn't very delicious) at Willow Street Pizza.

God has blessed me with some absolutely amazing friends!

Shiver Me Tiny Timbers

After taking a substantial break from onesie creations, I'm back in business. I made this little pirate ship piece for a very dear friend of mine who just had a sweet baby boy. It came out really cute, but the needle kept trying to push the really thin parts (like the prow of the ship) down to where the bobbin is (if that makes sense). I just heard about some sort of backing fabric that is used for appliques, and I think that could help this problem. I have so much to learn about sewing!
