Revision

I went to a fantastic quilting store in Santa Clara, CA called Bobbin's Nest Studio. I am DEFINITELY going to visit again when we're in town. Anyway... they didn't have the fabric I had picked out for the crib skirt, but there were bunches of other really pretty color choices. I ended up buying this one (also by Amy Butler) for the crib skirt and various other nursery accents:

I like it because it's blue and green but still sweet enough to look very feminine. It also has an old-fashioned quality about it... just like the name Lucy.

Fabric!

I've chosen my inspiration fabric for Lucy's nursery (thank you Amy Butler) . I'm planning to make the crib skirt out of it, and maybe incorporate it into a few different elements. My friend Sarah is going to meet me in San Jose in a few days to help me register for baby things... otherwise I'm pretty sure I'd be lost in the endless sea of pacifiers and diaper genies. I am SO excited that she is willing to make the trip just for me and my little Lucy!

Nursery Progress

Our glider came in the other day and we're really happy with it. We ordered it from Once Upon a Child (we got to choose our own fabric and everything), but it wasn't supposed to come in for another month. Dave put it it together and it looks so cozy in the corner.

We got it!

It looks so great in our little nursery! The things on the wall are just temporary, but at least it's starting to feel like a baby's room.

I'm planning to make a crib skirt out of the fabric that's hanging down on the side (if you even noticed it). I wanted to put it there just to see what it might look like. I think it's going to work!

By the way... is it creepy weird to use a mattress off of craigslist? Should we buy a new one? This one is 3 years old and has a 10 year warranty.

Craigslist Contender

I found this Bassett 3-in-1 crib for $150 on Craigslist. There's a lady already interested in it, but if she backs out, I'm TOTALLY going over to look at it.

And WE GOT IT!!! Photos to follow... as soon as we relocate my camera :)

Crepes + Nutella

There's a wonderful little place in Portland called Vivace that we LOVE. They make a crepe there that tastes like heaven :). It has Nutella, bananas, sliced almonds and whipped cream. And now for a ridiculous amount of photos of me and my crepe.

A Walk in the Garden

Dave and I FINALLY got to see the Northwest in the summer. We've been here several times, but always when it's cold and rainy. We took a day trip to Portland to check out the rose garden in bloom, and it did not disappoint. I wish we could've been there at sunset when the light was a little nicer, but we still came away with a few fun shots (thanks Dave :).

And here's Lucy and me at 23 weeks..

Mulch Better

Please excuse my pun... I couldn't resist :). Dave and I decided to buy a few more plants to put in by our mailbox, and some mulch. I can't believe we didn't put mulch in sooner! The difference is dramatic for something so inexpensive. Hooray for mulch!

Art!

Our friend Scott Phillips had an art show on Saturday, and we decided to go. We were so impressed, that we decided to take something home with us!

This is the first piece of art we've ever bought, and I'm really excited about it. I love the sound of the rain, and Dave really likes the little illustrated piece of paper on it that talks about different types of clouds. It's a perfect fit!

Fish for Friends

My lovely and talented friend Carol is expecting her second baby boy any day now. I made this gift for her little one :). It came out just how I was picturing it, and now I'm excited to make a few for my baby.

Cribs

It's getting to be that time when Dave and I start looking at baby gear. I've been looking online for a crib, and so far this one is our favorite:

They sell it at Walmart for $300 (more than we were hoping to spend), but it looks pretty solid. The less expensive models in the $150 range look a lot chintzier. The good thing about this crib is that it can convert into a toddler bed when Lucy gets a little older.

I've also been looking at Babies R Us and Target online... does anyone know of any other good places to look? We'd like the crib to be white and have a slightly modern look if possible.
