New Skirt!

Yesterday I got to sew! And, oh my, was it glorious. I had bought this super cute this super cute greenish yellow fabric several months ago, and I FINALLY got the chance to use it.

I also got a bunch of yards of this black and white striped elastic that I love. I used it on a skirt for myself as well (but I haven't taken photos of it yet). I bought it for something like 50 cents per yard, so of course I got a ton of it.

The elastic is three inches wide, so I decided to sew the fabric on top of it to make it appear thinner.

This might be my favorite thing I've ever made for Lucy.

A friend of mine also suggested that I sew a big fold into the back so that I can let it out as Lucy grows. So smart! Even if it starts to get a little short, she can always wear leggings under it.

Oh my gosh, you are seriously the cutest thing ever, JJ! And so is your little girl. And so is the skirt. And the elastic. And the t-shirt dress. And the lion head. And everything else you've ever made. Seriously.

I got the elastic at the SAS fabric by the pound, and I made up my own pattern for the skirt.

Hi JJ!

What a precious little girl you have. She is a natural little model.

I just wanted you to know that I am taking your music with me as I move to Uganda. I've already begun working on translating some of your music into Spanish so that I can share it with my Mexican and Honduran friends...and soon you will be famous in Uganda as well.

I've found these knit hats to be super cute, and from the things you posted right up your alley.

here's a link to a pattern that I found etsy, but there are tons out there.

Sew impressive! [audience groans]. Sorry, could not resist. Excellent perspective on the photos as well, though several images on your blog show as broken links (might be something on my end, though). Thanks for sharing!

hi Jj:
I REALLY want some of that B and W elastic for a skirt I'm sewing next week... by chance, if you go there, and wouldn't mind picking up a yard for me? I'll pay you for shipping and all... but I cannot find it ANYWHERE. I even called SAS and they will not ship to me :(
