I have been sewing a little bit, but I haven't been blogging. This week is all about playing catch up.
I posted a long time ago about this fabulous elastic I found for super cheap at a fabric store here in Phoenix. I used it in a skirt for Lucy, but I also made a little something for myself.
I bought this sheet a year ago at a thrift store because it was so wonderfully and whimsically retro, and I FINALLY used it to make myself a skirt (see the cute little pink butterflies?).
The really cool thing about it was that I used the existing finished edge of the sheet, so I didn't even have to hem it!
I'm thinking I can wear it with a long-sleeve t and some tights for the fall. And now that I think about it, this skirt probably cost me less than $1 to make! This gal would be proud :).

So very, very cute!
Love it! Fantastic idea. It looks like it is something someone sewing challenged like myself could manage to make, too!
I Love this so very much. I need to take some time to sew something for me instead of my kidlets. Maybe after Christmas.
So cute! I love it!
so cute! Where did you get the elastic?
great job! when my daughter was a little toddler, i made her the cutest thanksgiving turkey skirt out of a dish towel ;)
Oh so cute. You have inspired me! I'm going to head down to Sas Fabrics to see what else they have.
WOW! thats insanely cute. The pattern is perfect, and what color. So vibrant.
okay, I totally want to make one of these skirts, you inspired me!
I just need to find some of that elastic without driving that far into Phoenix, somewhere near Queen Creek!

That is an amazing idea! Wow. Thanks for the tip :) I love all your creative ideas!
Is that elastic on the top? If so...Where can I buy that elastic?
I love this skirt! So cute!! Great idea!I wish I had the gift of sewing. The machine and I just don't see eye to eye.
Hey JJ, I got some of this elastic a year ago when I saw this gorgeous skirt and now have a skirt of my own using it, but can't remember the name now! Does it have a special name? Thanks :)
This is so beautiful. I have some vintage sheets that could be used for
this. I of course would use them on
the bed if possible. They are so soft.
They don't make sheets like the ones they made when I was young. Percale vs. muslin. :)
Adorable! I still love that sheet. I have the same set (from 1978)!
