Baby Shower Gifts

A friend of mine is having a baby shower for her baby boy who's due next month. I thought about just buying something for her, but I always like to give handmade gifts when I can.

So, this morning I put on a 30-minute show for Lucy (I know... but it works!) and whipped up these cute little burp cloths. This is one of my favorite baby shower gifts to make. They're quick, easy, super cute and one-of-a-kind.
I really love that color green mixed with the blue polka dots. I hope my friend loves them too!
I suppose it's almost time to make a few for myself!

My new goal after having baby #2 (due any day now!) is to learn to sew. What a perfect first project... so easy! Thanks for the inspiration :-)

I love the prints you chose! Cute and stylish without being babyish.

Adorable.

Question...I notice that you didn't hem the pieces. Did you do something so that once washed time after time they won't fray? Or when they fray it will just look a bit more vintage? :)

A friend recommended your music and blog awhile back...I'm enjoying both!

JJ, I'll say it again - you are so talented! Such a cute and useful idea! I love the little elephant with the bird on its back. I am sure you friend will love them.

I love these! My mom and I have been making burp cloths (and receiving blankets and bibs) for the babies at church (that's what I call it, basically a ministry where we donate a week's worth of baby clothes and other baby items to Moms in need for whatever reason, baby came early, out of town, not enough money, etc.). Yours look super cute. Can you share a how to, please?

Those are the best burp cloths. I think www.cottonbabies.com - sells those same prefolds dirt cheap, like $1 each, you could easily buy a bunch and make gifts for friends. They soak up spit up like nobodies business too :)
