House Progress

We're steadily making progress on all the projects around our new house. It feels so great to be able to cross stuff off our list. We decided to put doors onto the den to create a nice big office/quiet place to read. Here's a view of it from the living room.

Here's the space (clutter and all).
Here are the new doors installed! We still need to frost the glass (we're thinking a film maybe?) AND...

... if you hadn't noticed already, we removed the monkey shrine. I'm so relieved it's gone. I had NO IDEA what to put in there.

So, here's the question: do we stain the doors to match the front door and the french doors, or do we paint the new doors white, and paint the french doors white to match (and possibly paint the front door as well).
I would try to find the same white as our new entertainment unit.
What do you think?

Gorgeous house! I agree with Sharon...I love beautiful wood and the front door is such a beautiful color. I say stain it the same as the other doors.

I love white woodwork, but I vote for stained like front door, french doors and the lovely mantel! Shows less messy fingerprints, doesn't show dings when paint is knocked off... don't ask me how I know that :)

What a lovely home! I would stain the new doors to match the front door. Question? What is the name of the paint color and your walls? My Mom and I are trying to find the right color for a room in our house... we really like the color yo have. Do you know the brand or name?

paint the new doors white, leave the front door as is (I love it) cause it doesn't have to be all matchy matchy. And in the shrine thingy--hang a beautiful candle/mirror sconce. There. Howz that for opinion?

Seriously? Are you really considering staining that amazing rustic front door? It will lose all it's charm if painted white. :(

Okay... so my vote is to keep the doors (all of them) the same great stain color. I love your white entertainment center...but you can throw up some white shelves, or picture frames to tie it in. It's really hard to take painted wood back to it's glorious natural appearance. Lovely house by the way! And we LOVE love love your music...been fans since we heard you at New Life Church about 5 years ago.

SUCH a hard question to answer!!! what are the bedroom doors?

To answer your questions...
I don't know what color the walls are. It has definite red-ish undertones (which makes it southwest-y), so we're probably going to repaint. I like it, but it doesn't go with our furniture.

The bedroom doors are the same tan color as all the trim in the house, but we're going to repaint them white.

Does your front door have a sweet little peephole?? That is too cute. I would buy a house for a detail like that. (Which is probably why it's a really good thing that I'm married to a more practical man.)

SUPER cute house, JJ!

Ok I would DEFINITELY leave the front door as is. It's gorgeous!! And I think if it were me I would paint all the other doors and trims white. And leave the mantle alone cause it carries the rustic feel from the front door through the house. But no matter what you decide, it'll still be adorable!

You have very cosy place to live.. Nice, bright colors! I suggest to leave the wooden parts as they are - it looks more "real".. Best wishes, Elli.

I vote to paint the den doors and french doors white like you are painting the bedroom doors and, of course, leave the beautiful front door alone. The mantel should stay the same too!

Oh, I say leave the entry door as it is and paint the others white.

***I love your little munchkin climbing into the cabinet! Looks like fun!***
