Grandma's Gift

Dave and I wanted to be creative in the way that we let his parents know that we were expecting. So, when I was about 10 weeks along, Alan and Pauly came out to visit us in Nashville. Since Pauly really enjoys knitting, we decided to give her a knitting book for her birthday. So... we bought her a book full of baby patterns. When she opened it I said, "Just make sure to have something done by December 6th." It took a moment for the reality to set in, but once it did, she started rejoicing like only a new grandmother can :). Grandpa took a little while longer to realize what we were celebrating, but once he did, he was just as excited.

She decided on a pattern for a little hooded sack, and I just got it in the mail a few days ago. I LOVE it! It is so soft and sweet. The crocheted flower on the hood is my favorite part. I'm looking forward to having a little Lucy to snuggle up with :).

Thank you Grandma Pauly!

I'm so happy you like it, JJ. I can't wait to see Lucy in it either! The book is "Essential Baby" by Debbie Bliss. I've already picked out my next project for Lucy :-) I'm glad you like it, too, Judy — it won't be long till we share grandmahood!
