Kimono

I thought I'd try something new and exciting with the wonderful fabric I just got by Joel Dewberry (LOVE IT!). Making this little kimono was much more challenging than I had anticipated... mostly because I bought bias tape that was not wide enough, and tried to make it work anyway.

I added a little soft and fuzzy detail on the sleeves.

Here's a view of the inside ribbon tie.

Oh my gosh, JJ!! That kimono is just awesome. The part about the fuzzy stuff is really a great idea. I am so very proud of you and your creations!!!

boy clothes seem more complicated to make, but if you find a pattern you like, I'd be willing to try :)

That kimono is darling, JJ! Love the little ties and "fuzzy stuff" on the sleeves. Makes me want to adopt a baby from China :-)

Hello, i was looking at your blog and i am in love with this fabric. I am doing a theme in my living room of birds and such and wondered if you could tell me where you got it so that i could make curtains out of it. Or you could tell me how much you would charge me if you made them? I am a friend of Carol Phillips, by the way. Thanks

I was so intrigued by your little kimono that I went to Joel Dewberry's Web site, JJ. Love his fabric designs. He has a delicate touch and wonderful color sense. By the way, this is Mom H on Dad H's computer :-)
